WATER UNDER THE BRIDGE

Water Under The Bridge took place at JEYES COMMUNITY CENTRE in February 2017

We hope to have further sessions soon! Please see the video below for more information about the project.

Water Under The Bridge provides a 4-week programme of creative movement workshops for participants aged 60 and over, working with the themes of memory (in particular, personal memories connected to the local area) and water movements. In addition, the movement material covered in the workshops aims to strengthen specific muscle groups in order to prevent falls and activate the cardiovascular system to reduce the risk of age-related diseases.

An informal sharing at the end of the four weeks will celebrate the participants’ work on this project. Workshop participants will also be offered the opportunity to take part in a processional performance alongside professional dance artists at a later date, which will be devised using memories shared by participants during the workshops.

Water Under The Bridge promotes intergenerational dialogue between younger dancers and older participants. The workshop series aims to reduce isolation and to promote general well-being, engaging participants in a fun, relevant and entertaining activity.

Water Under The Bridge is supported by East London Dance through the Dance Enterprise Ideas Fund
